Itasha and drifting (Pt. II), what's the big deal?

About a year ago, the first WTBD? post kicked off the series of posts focusing on interesting aspects of Japanese pop culture and anime fandom. Now, almost a year after the first WTBD post, focusing on itasha and drifting and my personal passion towards anything remotely related to automobiles and motorsports, Noriyaro drift blog's founder, Alexi Smith, provides us once again with an awe-inspiring gallery of great itashas, straight from Japan.

This itasha-only meet is located in a parking area on the Kan-Etsu expressway, and features a wide variety of different cars.

The following pictures have all been acquired from Noriyaro. We do not own any of the following pictures. All credit goes to Alexi Smith and Noriyaro.

The first car is a Kisaragi Gold★Star-themed Nissan Skyline R34 GT-t.

A Toyota HiAce featuring Touhou graphics. It's not often we see vans like these driving around on the streets.

A Toyota Altezza with a rather interesting paintjob. Note the mad camber, and for those who are even remotely interested in aftermarket wheel fitment will know the debate of form and function. I personally don't mind seriously cambered vehicles, but to drive one would be a no-no for me.

A Super GT-esque Nissan S15 Silvia sitting pretty with Haruhi plastered on its side.

A Honda Elysion with amazing Hatsune Miku graphics.

Gumi-themed Toyota Sera.

It should be obvious that Miku is a popular theme with itashas.

An AE86 featuring Rewrite graphics.

According to Alex, the owner made it clear that he "was thinking of a carbon bonnet wrap, but (he) ended up getting some lesbian schoolgirls instead.” After all, who needs carbon bonnet wraps when we can have yuri schoolgirls?

A Nissan March with Sasara Kusugawa from “To Heart 2″. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I definitely would not want to be seen driving this car. Note the Kyubey inside.

Mazda FC RX-7 with an interesting reflective vinyl.

And to wrap things up, Reimu.
